Tree Work In Norfolk

This week we have been doing some tree work in Norfolk on RAF Mildenhall…
The work consists of working around the base and cutting back any trees and vegetation approaching on any of the buildings around the site.
The job is expected to take around approximately a week for a three man team with truck and chipper.
We arrived on site around 8.30 signed in and met the clients to collect the paper work for the site which consisted of site plans and work specifications.
Once we decided where to start we carried out a risk assessment and set out the working area using signs and hi visibility barrier tape, this was done on every location throughout the site and if there were any new risks a new risk assessment was filled in. Before any work was carried out we checked for birds nests and any signs of bats.
The climbing was shared by all the team each taking turns to climb and reduce the trees as needed. On this site all the wood chip produced from brash is fired into a trailer on a tractor, this is then stock piled on site and used when composted down on the shrub and flower beds throughout the site.
The wood is also stock piled and used by staff members on the wood burners and open fire, so zero waste from this site.

All our work is carried out to BS3998 2010 standards and we carry out both domestic and commercial work with clients including Local Authorities, Parish Councils and contract work to the Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk, Breckland Council and Serco, South Norfolk Council, Broadland Council and NCC Highways.
