Today one of our teams have been working in North Norfolk…
The job was for the Borough Council of Kings Lynn & West Norfolk.
The tree was located over a Croquet lawn in Hunstanton so the tree had to be dismantled and each piece lowered gentle to the ground to avoid creating any damage to the Croquet Lawn.
The team arrived on site around 8.30 and carried out the risk assessment and wildlife survey, the team then talked trough the plan and decided the best way to work and who was responsible for what before signing the paperwork.
The site was then set up using Hazard tape and tree cutting hazard signs.
Tom decided that he would climb and Chris was to preform Ariel rescue if needed. Tom started to make his way up the tree will the others got out all the rigging kit and fuelled the saw etc ready for use, once Tom had installed his main line the team sent up the pulley block and rigging rope. Tom then made his way down to the bottom of the tree ready to remove the first branch, he then attached the rigging rope and once ready remove the first branch.
The ground staff were responsible for lowering slowly to the ground and then once on the ground cross cutting it and stacking it into heaps ready for chipping later.
The job took a four man team with two chip trucks and a trailer a full day to remove the tree to ground level
