Today our tree surgeons in Norfolk have been working in Norwich…
The job was to dismantle this storm damaged Willow. The Willow had split and half of it was laying on top of sheds and outbuildings.
The half which was to be dismantled was propped up by the outbuilding and some of the limbs so it had to be dismantled from working at height.
There was no room for a MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) so we decided to use the remaining tree as a anchor from which to work from.
Tom decided that he would climb so we threw a line up into the remaining tree so we could work safely on the fallen part of the tree.
The risk assessment was then filled in and the area was checked for wildlife and was then sealed of with tape and signs. Tom then started to make his way up the reaming standing tree and then out onto the fallen part and once into position started to remove small pieces and chuck them down onto the ground.
The rest of the team were dragging the brash and wood through and out of the garden, stacking behind the chipper ready fro chipping later.
