Tree Removal in Norfolk

This week we have been doing some tree removal in Norfolk….
The job was to removed 26 very large Poplars, some of the trees had fallen in the recent winds and some were left standing these were going to be dismantled. The picture show one of the big root balls which we had to dig out and remove from site each one weighed approximately one and a half tons.
The trees were located along the edge of a site and had fallen over a ditch. The first thing we needed to do was to cross cut and chip the already fallen trees and stack any wood into neat heaps this created space and made felling and dismantling the other trees safer and easier. The remaining trees were sectional felled using a MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) as this was the safest and quickest option.

Once all the trees had been felled, cross cut and chipped we got a 360 excavator on site this was used to dig out the stumps and lift the sections of truck over the ditch and onto a waiting grab lorry. The roots ball were also lifted onto grab lorry and removed from site.

The job took a 4 man team around 2 weeks to complete.
