Tree Felling In Norfolk

This week one of the teams have been doing some tree felling in Norfolk…

The job was to clear a path through a woodland so that a utility company could gain access to some underground services.
The trees had to be felled so that they could machinery into the wood to dig and repair the services. There was a lot of trees to fell most of which were young trees approximately 25 years old.
The job would normally need a felling licence but as the work is being carried out for a utility company this is not needed.

The team arrived on site around 8.30, once on site they carried out a risk assessment and wildlife survey before setting up the site using signs and hazard tape.
All the trees on the site could be straight felled so working at height was avoided.
There was a five man team on this site there were two using chainsaws while the others were following behind with the tracked chipper.
