This week our highly experienced tree surgeons in Norwich Norfolk have had a really busy week, one of the jobs was to dismantle this a large Sycamore.
The tree was causing a problem by pushing against the neighbours fence and also overhanging a garage, so as the tree was of poor structure we decided that complete removal was the best option.
The tree was located within a conservation area so we had to fill out a tree work application form on behalf of our client and this had to be sent in to the district council for them to decide whether the tree could be removed.
Because tree was located outside a busy store near a public highway, our Chapter 8 qualified staff had to set up traffic management in order to allow us to park vehicle’s and work within a safe proximity to the tree. This had to be set up before any work could be carried out.
The team then carried out a risk assessment highlighting any onsite risks, these are then recorded on a risk assessment sheet which is then signed by anyone on the site.
The tree was to be dismantled by climbing as there was no room to set up a MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform), so as the tree was multi stemmed and we had a five man team onsite we were going to have two climbers and three ground staff.
